Working Mechanism

  • Oetiker 10100004 zinc plated ear clamp is installed using Oetiker manual installation pincers that only need single stroke tool closure for securing.
  • The clamp's nominal diameter should be chosen according to the correct clamping force.
  • The clamp is positioned in the ear space and closed with a jaw pincer tool to bridge & seal the ear gap tightly.
  • Owing to the specific geometry of this 2 ear clamp, clamping force increases and creates a spring during the contraction and expansion of hose material, in response to mechanical or thermal influences such as vibration, temperature, etc.
  • Burrs produced during shearing and forming are completely removed via a barrel finishing operation.

Features

  • Oetiker 10100004 clamp features a thin wall insert ring, a double ear design & an oval protrusion for tight gripping.
  • It is made of zinc-plated steel to ensure corrosion resistance on exposed surfaces.
  • This clamp provides a degree of elasticity for accommodating changes in the size of thejoined parts, caused by vibration or thermal expansion.
  • The one-piece configuration of this ear clamp ensures positive clamping and a tamper-resistant seal.
  • It has deburred edges that provide complete protection of clamped parts from scarring or mechanical damage.

Compatible Accessories

  • Oetiker HO 3000 ME: These pneumatic ear clamp pincers have a pistol grip and squeezable closing force of 3000 N.
  • Oetiker HMK 01 / S01: These manual ear clamp pincer tools feature clamping jaws mounted on the side of the pliers (HMK S01) or straight on the pliers (HMK 01), making them easy to work within compact spaces.
  • Oetiker CP 01: These cordless clamp pincers provide flexible, quick & easy installation, and ensure accuracy and excellent manoeuvrability in tight spaces.
  • Oetiker HO 3000 EL & HO 4000 EL: These electronically controlled pincers provide uniform closure of the clamp.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between single ear and double ear clamps?

Double ear clamps provide increased clamping force, whereas single ear clamps facilitate quick and easy installation and removal.

Is it better to crimp or clamp PEX?

For a stationary, quick and highly secure connection, crimp tools are preferred over PEX clamps. But if you require flexibility, opt for PEX clamps.

How to remove an Oetiker clamp?

You can use tools, such as a side or bull nose cutter, for removing the interlock while peeling back the clamp from hoses. Rotating cutters are not recommended as they can damage the hose during clamp cutting.

How to select the right ear clamp?

  • Install the hose on the fitting or pipe (which expands the hose).
  • Measure the OD (outside diameter) of the hose.
  • Select a clamp that can accommodate that particular diameter in about the middle of its range.
