ALTRONIX NetWay1 Midspan Power Injector, Indoor Module, Plastic, Black

Altronix NetWay1 single-port power injector supplies power and passes on data (text, audio and video) when connected with Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) devices. These PoE devices can be at a maximum distance of 100m from the midspan NetWay1 injector. This NetWay1 injector directly delivers power to the ethernet / data cable that is already in place, instead of installing additional power sockets, thereby reducing extra wiring. The Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) technology lets network cables carry both electrical power & data simultaneously.

Altronix NetWay1 can be connected to both PoE and non-PoE devices (using accessories):

• Altronix NetWay1 single-pole injector requires 24VAC or 24VDC input power (1.2A current supply)
• PoE port supplies power and transfers data through an ethernet (CAT5) cable with 10/100 Base-T compliant data rate
• IEEE 802.3af compliant port delivers a maximum power rating of 15.4W at a supply voltage of 48VDC
• Integrated with safety features like short circuit protection, PoE manual shutdown (for UL 60950-1 application only) and auto-detection & protection facility of legacy non-PoE cameras / devices
• Comes with LED indicators: red for port status and yellow & green for IP link status
• Compact insulated housing equipped with RoHS-compliant acrylonitrile butadiene styrene enclosure and input & PoE shutdown spring terminals

• Mount the NetWay1 injector securely on a wall using a fastener and / or wall anchors
• Connect to a UL-listed Class 2 or LPS (limited power supply) device for supplying the input power
• Then, link 24VAC/24VDC to terminals marked (24VAC/VDC Input) using 22 - 16AWG wire.
• Affix the structured cable from the [IN] port to a UL-listed ethernet switch or a video server
• Attach another structured cable from the [OUT] port to the PoE device
• Port status LED illuminates in case of normal operation & secured connections
• To begin PoE shutdown, manually apply voltage in the range of 12 to 24VAC or 5 to 24VDC to the [PoE Shutdown] marked input terminals on the power injectors
• The NetWay1 unit starts supplying power normally to PoE compliant devices when the applied voltage is removed from the shutdown terminals
