This ELGA membrane can filter out any metal or non-metal particles, larger than 5000 Daltons, from water.
UF differs from other membrane filtration technologies, such as microfiltration (MF) and nanofiltration (NF) primarily in terms of pore size and the size range of particles removed. UF has larger pore sizes compared to NF and smaller pore sizes compared to MF.
If proper pre-treatment measures are not followed, UF cartridges may foul and clog, especially if the water source contains high levels of suspended solids or organic matter. Regular maintenance, such as backwashing and cleaning, can prevent fouling and ensure consistent performance.
ELGA LC151 membrane is not particularly useful for softening water. However, you can achieve comprehensive water purification by adding water purification system accessories, such as softeners and sediment filters.
