Product Details

Air Systems International BAC-10 ambient air pump system works in conjunction with SAR (supplied-air respirator) system components for delivering safe breathable air to the workers in environments having low oxygen levels or compromised air quality. This ambient pump system delivers pressurised air at the desired flow rate to respirators or hoods.

Working Mechanism

  • Place the ambient pump system in a non-hazardous area having clean, breathable air.
  • Connect the pump to a respirator or hood using a hose and Hansen fittings. Users can also attach a CO (carbon monoxide) monitor or filtration panels for removing contaminants.
  • Connect the power supply and switch it On.
  • Control the adjustable pressure output by checking the pressure gauge.
  • The equipped air filter removes dust & particulates from the air supply.
  • The connected respirator would get safe, breathable air in hazardous environments.
  • After use, release excess air pressure using the relief valve and disconnect the hose & respirators.
  • Cover the fittings with dust caps to prevent the entry of dust.

Features

  • Air Systems International BAC-10 ambient pump system has 2 outlet fittings to provide pressurised air to either one hood style respirator or two constant flow masks.
  • The ambient pump system generates a maximum of 15 psi air pressure.
  • It has a 3/4 hp ODP motor that runs on 100 to 115 or 208 to 230VAC power supply.
  • The motor is thermally protected to prevent overheating.
  • The ambient pump system produces a maximum of 9 cfm airflow at 10 psi and 9.5 cfm output at 4 psi.
  • The unit comes prewired with an On / Off switch, plug (115 VAC only) and a pressure gauge (0 to 30 psi range).
  • It is equipped with a 0.5 to 0.7 micron inlet & compressor filter for preventing the entry of dust particles into the air supply.

Compatible Accessories

  • Air Intake Filter Holders & Air Intake Filters: These air intake filter holders fit the air intake filter to remove contaminants & particulate from the air supply.
  • Carbon Monoxide Monitors: According to OSHA guidelines, CO (carbon monoxide) levels should not exceed 10 ppm in compressed air supply. Carbon monoxide monitors are used to monitor the concentration of CO in the air supply line.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to choose the right air pump system?

Ambient air pump systems are generally available with 1 to 4 outlets for attachment to a respirator. A hood style respirator requires 6 CFM air. Whereas, a tight-fitting constant flow airline respirator requires 4 CFM air. Users can multiply the required airflow of a respirator by the number of respirator wearing workers to find the required CFM of an ambient air pump system.

What points should a user remember while operating this ambient pump system?

Users should select a respirator that is compatible with a low-pressure ambient air pump system. They should refer to the respirator manufacturer's guide to choose the quick connect couplings & air hose connected to the air pump. Typically, air pumps operate with a hose having lengths up to 50 feet.
