Working Mechanism

  • Including a shutoff valve in the coupling halves (one or both) permits fluid to flow through the coupling only when both halves are connected.
  • Check that all threads on the bleed tool main body and cap / bolt assemblies are clean and in good condition.
  • Do not use the bleed tool if threads are damaged.
  • Hand-tighten the bleed tool main body onto the coupler half.
  • The bleed tool's main body is marked 'male coupler' on one end and 'female coupler' on the other.
  • Use the proper end.
  • While bleeding a male coupler half, thread the bleed tool main body onto the male coupler half and hand-tighten it.
  • While bleeding a female coupler half, thread the bleed tool main body into the retaining collar of the female coupler half and tighten the retaining collar hand.
  • The bleed tool includes two cap / bolt assemblies, so be sure to use the correct one.
  • For male coupler halves, use the cap / bolt assembly with the short bolt and for feamle coupler halves, use the one with the long bolt.
  • Before proceeding, ensure that the cap is tight on the bolt.
  • Thread the cap / bolt assembly into the bleed tool main body.
  • Slowly turn the cap / bolt assembly clockwise until the coupler check ball opens and hydraulic pressure is relieved.
  • Allow any excess oil to drain into a suitable container.
  • Remove coupler half, main body and cap / bolt assembly from the hydraulic device (manifold, cylinder, etc.).
  • Disassemble bleed tool components from the coupler half.
  • Clean bleed tool components and store in the container provided.

Features

  • This Enerpac high-flow hydraulic coupler has steel construction with zinc finish for corrosion resistance, strength and durability.
  • It comes with a 2-in-1 dust cap for use on male & female coupler halves to prevent the entry of contaminants.
  • It comes with a sleeve-locking mechanism for additional protection against accidental disconnections and operates at a maximum pressure of 10000 PSI.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens when the coupling is disconnected?

When the coupling is disconnected, a mechanical link between the coupling halves breaks, resulting in the valve closing and blocking the flow.

How do you measure a hydraulic quick coupler?

While measuring the male half of the coupling (external thread), use the bottom clamps of the calliper. For the measurement of the female half of the coupling (internal thread), use the top clamps of the calliper.
