Product Details

Destaco 225208 toggle clamp spindle assembly or flat tip bonded neoprene spindle is a threaded rod with a rubber stopper, which is used to secure materials to work surfaces. It helps ensure optimal functionality and performance during welding, drilling and milling operations in the aerospace, automotive and food & packaging industries. When the rubber stopper begins to wear away, this spindle eliminates the risk of disfiguring and acts as a replacement unit for toggle clamps to extend their service life and protect them from damage caused by abrasion / twisting / flexing. The spindle can be adjusted to accommodate materials of varying thicknesses and can mount onto compatible toggle clamps including manual, power and hydraulic clamps. The spindle features neoprene construction to exhibit chemical stability by maintaining flexibility over temperatures ranging from -20 to 100 degrees Celsius and ensure maximum clamping force. It is configured with a neoprene tip to prevent marring and is supplied with jam nuts to allow adjustments between clamping distance. It has oil resistant and silicone free properties for exceptional service life and offering hardness up to 80 Shore A.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are other variants of spindles available on Raptor Supplies?

Yes, Raptor Supplies also offers Destaco swivel foot spindles, round bonded spindles and hex head spindles.

What other variant of this Destaco spindle is available?

Destaco spindles are also available in stainless steel variants, providing corrosion-free performance & enhanced service life. Request a quote for these spindles on Raptor Supplies.

What is the difference between flat tip bonded spindles and swivel foot spindles?

The flat tip bonded spindles reduce marking on fragile or polished surfaces while swivel foot spindles are used where a large area needs to be clamped.

Which spindle is better - neoprene or stainless steel?

Both spindles have unique features owing to the construction. Neoprene spindles have neoprene constructed tips to prevent marring during camping, as well as exhibit chemical stability by maintaining flexibility over a wide temperature range. Stainless steel spindles ensure prolonged service life with anti-corrosion properties and ensure high tensile strength in extremely high & low temperatures.

What does clamping force mean?

Clamping force is the amount of force actually applied to the workpiece by closing & locking the clamp. It is normally less than the stated holding capacity. The actual clamping force depends on various factors, such as cylinder bore, cylinder area, spindle position (clamping arm length) and available air pressure. In most cases, the clamping force is approximately 2 to 3 times the force exerted by a pneumatic cylinder.
