Horizontal hold down clampsfeature a straight handle positioned parallel to the base to push the clamping arm and the attached spindle against a workpiece for a secure clamping operation. These clamps are suitable for repeated clamping / detaching of the workpiece throughout the operation. Destaco 2027 Serieshorizontal hold down clamps feature a U shaped clamping bar for allowing adjustment & attaching of diverse spindle assemblies to keep the workpiece stationary while preventing it from loosening or slipping throughout the operation. These clamps have fixed handle pivot capability for smooth operation and greater hand clearance for minimising pinch points. Destaco 2027-UR horizontal hold down clamp is used to hold workpieces against flat surfaces in fixture checking, woodworking, light machining, welding, assembly, testing & closure operations. This manual clamp has steel construction for structural strength and preventing damage due to bending / breaking under heavy loads. It features Toggle Lock Plus mechanism to prevent accidental opening of the clamp due to vibration or motion. This clamp is also offered in variants without Toggle Lock Plus mechanism to reduce operating costs; with a black non-reflective finish (Blackout Series) on Raptor Supplies.

This Destaco 2027-UR horizontal hold down clamp is used for woodworking, light machining, fixture checking, welding, assembly & testing operations in the automotive, consumer goods, transportation, aerospace and food & packaging industries. It is also ideal for closing fixtures like drums, lids, covers and chamber & access doors.
Destaco offers similar clamp variants without Toggle Lock Plus mechanism (2027-U) to reduce operational cost where this secondary locking system is not required. Raptor Supplies can also deliver this clamp in BLK (Blackout Series) models having a black, non-reflective finish.
Destaco manual clamps feature Toggle Lock Plus mechanism in selected models for secondary locking of the clamp to ensure that they stay in the over-centre toggle lock condition. This feature is useful when fixtures of the clamp are in motion, in a vibratory environment or are inverted. It provides an extra level of safety for the user and the workpiece.
U bar style horizontal hold down clamps are manually operated to push the clamping bar & spindle assemblies against the workpiece and prevent them from moving mid-operation, thereby ensuring secure clamping.
The difference between a vertical & horizontal toggle clamp lies in the locking position of the clamp handle. A vertical clamp handle is oriented perpendicular to the base when in a locked position, whereas the horizontal toggle clamp is horizontally oriented or parallel to the base.
Holding capacity or the holding force indicates the ideal capability (measured during the clamp manufacturing process) of the clamp to hold down the equipment, workpiece or sheet metal on the assembly line or during other industrial applications.
