What are the different types of table saws?

There are six table saws available for different industrial applications:

• Cabinet: They incorporate induction, belt-driven motors to reduce vibration and offer accuracy when making standard rip or compound cuts. These saws are stationary and allow the cutting of large stocks in various applications.
• Hybrid: These saws are a mix of contractor and cabinet models. They are paired with a cabinet stand and an internal motor mount, with the only difference in the trunnion design. They also come with a full enclosure to provide maximum dust collection.

How do I maintain my table saw?

• Daily wipe the table surface and grooves with a rust-preventive solution. Also, clean the pitch and resin from the saw blade.
• Weekly, clean motor housing with compressed air, as well as wipe down the fence rails with a dry silicon lubricant.
• Periodically, clean the cabinet and trunnion area to remove dirt and debris.

How should I use a table saw safely?

• Unplug the table saw and fit the blade into the blade arbour on the top of the table.
• Adjust the blade height to meet the thickness of the material being used.
• Position the rip fence by releasing the locking lever that locks the fence into place and allows it to slide its inner edges to the desired width of the cut.
• Plug in the table saw and place the material aligned with the ripped fence. Wait until the blade reaches full speed before making contact with the material to prevent kickback.
• Guide the material slowly but firmly along the rip fence, keeping it flat along the table top and snugly aligned with the fence. Do not leave the material, which may cause the material to lift, distorting the surface, and increasing the risk of damage.
• Use a push stick to keep fingers away from the moving blade. This is important when making narrow rips.
