They apply clamping force sideways rather than from the top for securing workpieces in limited space, and are great for applications like metalworking, woodworking, fixturing, plastic injection molding, welding, testing, CNC machining, automotive part assembling and staking / light pressworking of industrial equipment. These straight line clamps feature a compact design to reduce space requirement for clamp installation & operation, thereby increasing ease of use in confined spaces for both single part & mass production. Destaco 603, 608 Series straight line action clamps are capable of being locked in both retracted & extended positions and have flanged bases with threaded holes for quick & secure installation. These straight line action clamps come with a threaded plunger that accommodates a hex head spindle assembly for making the clamp's plunger length easily adjustable. Destaco 603, 608 Series straight line action clamps are made of steel for structural rigidity and resisting corrosion on exposed surfaces, and are equipped with attached round plungers having a threaded body for quick & secure fastening. These units are integrated with a push / pull handle for moving the plunger in & out along its axis smoothly and are capable of holding loads ranging from 600 to 850 lb. Selected models come with the Toggle Lock Plus feature to provide over centre locking and prevention against accidental opening of the clamp.
